**SIGN UP FOR MEMBERSHIP**
Types of Membership
There shall be three types of membership in the New Mexico Association of the Deaf (NMAD) – Active, Associate and Honorary. Active and Associate shall be further classified either as Annual or Life members depending on the membership dues the member chooses to pay.
Active Membership
a) Active membership in the NMAD is available to any person living in New Mexico who submits his/her name and address to the NMAD along with payment of either Annual or Life dues.
b) Such resident shall become an Active Member and receive a numbered certificate of membership identified as either Annual or Life member.
c) Active members residing in New Mexico for more than one year shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of membership, including the right to vote and hold office, provided they meet the conditions specified in Section 5 below.
Associate Membership
a) Associate membership in the NMAD is available to any person living outside of New Mexico who submits his/her name and address to the NMAD along with payment of either Annual or Life membership dues.
b) An Associate member who has lived in New Mexico and was an Active member shall be entitled to all rights and privileges of membership except the right to hold office.
c) An Associate member who has never resided in New Mexico cannot vote or hold office.
Honorary Membership
a) Any person deemed highly qualified and appropriate may be elected an Honorary Member by two-thirds vote at an NMAD meeting with approval of the Board of Managers.
b) Honorary Members shall not be required to pay membership dues.
c) Honorary Members are entitled to vote at any NMAD meeting.
d) In order for an Honorary Member who resides in New Mexico to hold office, s/he has to pay membership dues.
